ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born and raised in Chicago USA, Ashley is a second year dance student at the world-renowned Codarts in Rotterdam, Netherlands, under the direction of Caroline Harder. Ashley was honored to have received advance placement into the second year of the program.
Ashley is a graduate of the Chicago Academy for the Arts in Chicago USA, where she trained with Randy Duncan, Patrick Simoniello, and Graca Sales. During her time at the Academy, she also trained for five years with Visceral Studio Company, the pre-professional program of Visceral Dance Chicago, under the direction of Nick Pupillo and Laura Wade.
Ashley was a member of YAGP International Contemporary Ensemble for the 2023-2024 season and performed the works of Ohad Naharin and Shahar Binyamini at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
Ashley has trained in intensive programs at Ballet BC, Arts Umbrella (two summers), Orsolina28 Summer Intensive, Orsolina28 Medhi Walerski Creation Program, Orsolina28 Nunes/Flock Creation Program, Kaatsbaan Ballet, NYCDA Winter Contemporary Intensive at The Juilliard School, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Boston Ballet (two summers), Ballet West, ABT, Complexions, and the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB).
Ashley was honored to perform her self-choreographed solo on the open-air stage at Orsolina28 in Moncalvo, Italy as part of the Medhi Walerski Creation Program.
Ashley has performed works of Shahar Binyamini, Marc Boivin, Kevin Cregan, Ethan Colangelo, Alexandra Damiani, Sharon Eyal, Madi Hicks, Akram Khan, Alice Klock, Florian Lochner, Andrew Mikhaiel, Ohad Naharin, Juliano Nunes, Crystal Pite, Carmen Rozestraten, Rafi Sady, Jorge Soler, Lukas Timulak, Medhi Walerski, Robyn Williams, and Ching Ching Wong.
Ashley received over 30 first place overall awards for her solo and duet works at various regional competitions with Visceral Studio Company.
She received 2nd overall and the highest score of age 16+ in the Senior Contemporary category at the 2024 YAGP semi-finals, a Top 3 finalist and the highest score of age 16+ in the Senior Contemporary category at the 2023 YAGP semi-finals, and was the highest scoring female in the Junior Contemporary category and a Top 12 finalist in the Junior Classical Ballet category at the 2021 YAGP semi-finals.
Ashley has trained in nearly every dance genre and has been training en pointe since age 12. Her early and diverse exposure to varied styles of dance from renowned choreographers, has allowed her to experiment in her own brand of movement founded upon the art of storytelling. She is always seeking unique ways to expand the boundaries of contemporary dance by telling a story through movement.
